NetBOM, LLC Is Officially Formed
Title: NetBOM, LLC Is Officially Formed
Today marks a major milestone in our mission to solve one of cybersecurity's most persistent challenges: knowing exactly what devices and applications are supposed to do on your network — and preventing them from doing anything else.
On June 24, 2025, NetBOM, LLC was officially formed as a Delaware limited liability company.
NetBOM began as a response to a critical gap in network security. While we have software bills of materials (SBOMs) that tell us what's in our applications, we lack a standardized way to define what networked devices and applications are allowed to do once deployed. Our Network Bill of Materials (NetBOM) specification creates this missing piece — a vendor-agnostic, enforceable framework for network behavior.
Since publishing our foundational white paper, we've seen growing interest from security professionals, device manufacturers, and network operators who recognize this fundamental need.
Formalizing NetBOM, LLC provides the foundation to:
Advance development of the NetBOM specification
Engage with industry partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies
Protect our intellectual property while maintaining open collaboration
Build a thriving open-source ecosystem of NetBOM-enabled tools
Scale our impact through strategic partnerships and growth
We remain committed to transparency, open collaboration, and our core mission: making network security predictable, enforceable, and scalable.
The next phase begins now. Watch for our upcoming patent filing announcement and opportunities to contribute to the growing NetBOM community.
